Catherine Poole, age 91 of Springfield, died Saturday, February 04, 2012 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 12 noon in Memorial Gardens with Rev. Michael Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 8 pm and Tuesday from 10 until 11:30 am. Mrs. Poole was born January 15, 1921 in Robertson County to the late J.C. and Clyde Pitt Toon. She was a homemaker and a member of Springfield Baptist Church. During World War II she worked as a welder at Vultee Aircraft and then worked as an operator at Bell Telephone. She was an expert seamstress and worked at Rena's for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walton Odell Poole. She is survived by her son, Buzzy Poole of Springfield; daughter, Elaine Winstead of Owensboro, KY; step-daughter, Rachel Holman of Glendale, KY; grandchildren, Michaela Poole, Amy Hempill, Courtney Winstead Cunningham, Sam Mayes, Julie Holman, Mark Holman, Amy Vance, and Lisa Stevenson; 6 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
