Mr. Euclid "Pop" Sowell, 87, of Auburn went to his Heavenly home February 18, 2012 at his residence surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born April 10, 1924 to the late John D. Sowell and Ida Frey Sowell in Robertson County Tennessee. Mr. Sowell was a farmer for 40 years, worked for Graham Manufacturing Company making church furniture and retired as a carpenter. He was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church for 45 years and custodian for the church for 30 years. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday February 21, 2012 at the Dean Funeral Chapel in Adairville with Bro. Kenny Chyle and great grandson, Brett Sowell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville. Pallbearers will be his loving grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Creek, Keith Blewett, Tom Poole, Ernest Madison, Kenneth Mason, Jim May and Freddie Jordan. The family will receive friends at the Dean Chapel on Monday from 3-8 pm and again on Tuesday from 10 am until the hour of service at 2 pm. Mr. Sowell is preceded in death by his parents, John D. Sowell and Ida Frey Sowell, sisters, Winnie Arms and Mable Poole, brothers, Guy, Rex, Robert "Bob", Sam, Boyd and Ralph Sowell. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Gainous Sowell of Auburn, KY, sons, Wayne (Shirley) Sowell of Auburn, KY, Phillip (Rita) Sowell of Russellville, KY, Garry (Linda) Sowell of Alvaton, KY, daughters, Kay Barrow of Adams, TN, Dotty (Jimmy) Turley of Enid, OK, sisters-in-law, Grace Sowell of Springfield, TN and Patsy Sowell of Nashville, TN, twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and dear friends, Debra Duncan Sowell and Sherry Robinson. Pop lived life well. He loved large and cared deeply. If one was fortunate enough to have met him, they walked away a better person because of it. He truly was a blessing here on earth.
